【摘要】:Bothtestoptionsinthistestmethodareconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentssincecurrentestimatesofbetween-laboratoryprecisionareacceptableandthemethodisusedextensivelyinthetradeforacceptancetesting.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogeneousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Testspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.Theaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingtheappropriatestatisticalanalysisandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultswithconsiderationtotheknownbias.Ingeneral,theseproceduresaremoresuitablefortestingwovenfabricsthanknitfabrics.TheCantileverTestOptionisthepreferredprocedurebecauseitissimplertoperform.Itis,however,notsuitableforverylimpfabricsorthosethatshowamarkedtendencytocurlortwistatacutedge.TheHeartLoopTestOptionissuitableforfabricsthatshowatendencytocurlortwist.Bothoptionscanprovideacorrelationwithasubjectiveevaluationofagivenfabrictype.Thatis,ahighernumberrepresentsastifferfabric.Thestiffnessofafabricmaychangewithstorage.Noevidencehasbeenfoundshowingthatbendinglengthisdependentonthewidth.Thetendencyforspecimenstocurlortwistwillaffecttheresult,becauseoftherigidityprovidedattheedge.Consequently,thewiderthestrip,thelessimportantistheedgeeffect.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofstiffnesspropertiesoffabrics.Bendinglengthismeasuredandflexuralrigidityiscalculated.Twoproceduresareprovided.1.1.1OptionA8212;CantileverTest,employingtheprincipleofcantileverbendingofthefabricunderitsownmass.1.1.2OptionB8212;HeartLoopTest,employingtheprincipleofaloopformedinafabricstripandhungvertically.1.2Thistestmethodappliestomostfabricsincludingwovenfabrics,airbagfabrics,blankets,nappedfabrics,knittedfabrics,layeredfabrics,pilefabrics.Thefabricsmaybeuntreated,heavilysized,coated,resin-treated,orotherwisetreated.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.TheU.S.customaryunitsmaybeapproximate.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
